Earth Day 2017

Keeping in tradition from last year, I’m late on Earth Day. In 2016 I posted a collection of forests, this year I’ve selected wildflowers, cacti and yucca from across the country.

The three photos above are all from Sheep Lake on the Washington section of the Pacific Crest Trail. One of my favorite places that I’ve ever camped.

Bear grass, my favorite flower on the PCT it usually comes up well above my waist. It’s like walking through fields of fireworks when you get a lot on a trail. Rhododenron behind. There was bear grass all over the Washington section as well but this picture is from Oregon.

I have no idea what kind of flower this is, it looks like red asparagus to me, but this is the dedication to plant photography my mom has. That is not a light pack.

If you can ID any of the flowers that I didn’t I would really appreciate it, shoot me a message.

Shout out to the sources that I used, Wildflowers of Denali and PNW Flowers.

Happy Earth Day!
